Privacy Protection and New Features are Key to Journal Home’s Free Blog Hosting Solution

Privacy Protection and New Features are Key to Journal Home's Free Blog Hosting Solution

JournalHome.com

London, UK (PRWEB) August 8, 2007

In an age where people have to worry about getting fired from their jobs over what they post in their blogs, most blog platforms and hosting solutions fall short. Those more traditionally used for personal blogging and journaling don't usually offer the features bloggers want (such as for marketing or monetizing their blogs), while those more traditionally used for business and professional blogging rarely offer adequate privacy options on a per-post basis. Journal Home (http://www.JournalHome.com) provides solutions to all of these problems with the addition of several new tools and features for their free blog hosting solution launched in 2005.

"Not all bloggers want to host their own blogs, and not all bloggers want to deal with the technical side of blogging," says Florent Guelfucci, owner of JournalHome.com's free blog hosting solution. "We try to combine the best of both worlds… the ability to control blog privacy levels without sacrificing things like marketing tools that can help bloggers gain readers and make money from their blogs."

The latest tools and plugins added to http://www.JournalHome.com include:

Security Script - A script was added to the site to help stop comment and trackback spam.

Twitter Plugin - Read and update all your tweets while you blog.

MyBlogLog Plugin - A plugin allowing bloggers to include a MyBlogLog widget (to display recent visitors) without having to create and insert MyBlogLog's widget code manually.

FineTune Plugin - The FineTune plugin allows bloggers to easily add a playlist to their blogs.

Social Bookmarking - New social bookmarking settings have been added to the blogs' control panels to allow bloggers to take advantage of social bookmarking features in their marketing.

Blog Publisher Compatibility - Journal Home blogs are now compatible with several desktop blog publishing applications, such as Windows Live Writer, Movable Type, and ScribeFire.

Adsense Plugin - You can add Google Adsense on all your blogs.

About JournalHome.com:

Journal Home is a free blog hosting solution, launched in March 2005 by Florent Guelfucci. In addition to free blog hosting, Journal Home offers a paid subscription option for bloggers wanting to take advantage of added features. The site also offers a webmaster forum where new bloggers can learn about running and marketing their blogs successfully, and a webmaster directory where bloggers can be listed. Journal Home is the blogging platform of choice for over 7000 bloggers, running over 30,000 blogs on the system.

How To Make Money With Google AdSense: Choose Content Wisely

Article by Richard Tyler

One of the key steps to making money with AdSense is to choose the proper topics to write about. If you are writing about things that people are not searching for, you will not have much traffic to your blog and, in turn, will not make much money through the AdSense program.

To discover what are the proper topics to write about, let me first share with you a little story.

When I first started a blog, I had that initial excitement of getting my ideas online. There is nothing quite like seeing your words expressed online for the whole world to see. And I remember when I checked my web statistics and saw that people from the Netherlands were reading my blog. I had gone international, I thought.

I had nearly 100 visitors a day from around the globe reading what I had to say everyday. Over a period of one month, this amounted to just over 3,000 visitors. I was excited by this number initially and decided to put AdSense on my blog to see if I could earn a living online by using Google AdSense.

However, my enthusiasm was quickly tempered when I realized that, with 3,000 visitors a month, you can not even fill up one tank of gas.

How many visitors a month does it take to succeed with AdSense? Well, you can roughly estimate that you will make about - per 1,000 visitors. Thus, with my whopping 3,000 visitors, I could make a measly a month. That won't exactly pay the rent. Heck, even 3,000 visitors a day won't pay the rent.

So, what to do? Quit?

Absolutely not! I set about learning everything that I could about AdSense. The first rule that I learned was that you have to write about what people are searching for.

As I look back about what I was initially writing about, they were things that were personal to me. I wrote about relationships, books, and movies. These topics are fine but if you do not implement the proper keywords, the keywords that people search for on Google, nobody will ever read what you write. Well, a few will read your posts, but not near enough to make money from AdSense.

Thus, I set about finding out what people are searching for by using some tools available on the Internet. Some of these tools are free while others cost a little money. However, if you want to earn a viable income online, you have to write about what people are searching for so it can be worth it to pay a little money.

SiteSell.com Brings Power of Web 2.0 to Small Business

SiteSell.com Brings Power of Web 2.0 to Small Business

Montreal, Quebec, Canada (PRWEB) August 30, 2007

SiteSell.com , the originator of Site Build It! and champion of using quality content to drive small business sites, today takes Web 2.0 to new heights. For the first time, small businesses can make it easy for their visitors to craft original Web pages including photos and captions. Other visitors can comment upon and rate those Web pages. The process is optimized for search engine results driving long tail keyword traffic and viral spread.

"Up until now," says Ken Evoy, president of SiteSell.com, "Web 2.0 has been the playground of large companies which basically aggregate individuals and small businesses. Today, small business owners have the simple, powerful ability to increase content through others and use it to grow traffic and 'buzz' tremendously."

Web 2.0 is a catchall term for user-generated content and interaction with viral spread. It has created legendary business success stories such as MySpace, flickr, and YouTube. But they are all 'big company' stories.

"Small business has been shut out of Web 2.0," states Evoy. "They are limited to blogging and using YouTube and MySpace to increase traffic and revenues in small ways. Now they become 'aggregators' instead of 'aggregatees.' Blogging pales because the site owner still has to create all that content. With Content 2.0, visitors create original, high-value content, a tremendous leveraging of time and results."

The depth and breadth of user-created content yields surprising results. At Wikipedia, contributors do the work, building new pages of keyword-rich material. Wikipedia gets the benefits of content and inbound links. Millions of Page 1 rankings at Google have pushed it to the 9th most visited site in the world (according to Alexa.com).

Evoy contends that what he calls "the rest of us" do not have the resources to create Web 2.0 platforms. Over one year in the making, Content 2.0 is that platform. SiteSell clients are already using it to create their own mini-MySpaces, turn sites into super-blogs or invite recipe submissions, beer reviews, etc. A ghost story site has even created BooTube, which invites video submissions. In SiteSell's forums, users are already showing traffic stats that have doubled.

Web 2.0 and so-called 'user-generated' content has its detractors. They cite everything from the unreliability of Wikipedia and uncontrolled 'splogging' (spam blogs) to widely publicized issues on MySpace. Evoy says that all those problems stem from the lack of reasonable forms of control. "We studied all the major Web 2.0 companies, took the best, eliminated the worst, and then made it all simple to use."

"You need an authority to maintain quality. Users of Content 2.0 cannot continuously overwrite each other like at Wikipedia. They don't create "Profiles" and gossip like at MySpace. And they do much more than just upload photos. They build real value, content which an owner can easily control and monetize. That control is key."

Submissions are presented to the site owner. She clicks to approve. It becomes a full-fledged Web page, optimally formatted and linked to other pages for high search engine rankings. The Sitemaps XML file is updated and pinged to the search engines, and the RSS feed is updated for blog subscribers. She can click to add Google AdSense ads. She can edit or delete a submission, and even delete-and-ban the visitor, preventing abuses while maintaining high quality.

Just like the large Web 2.0 successes, visitors who participate are notified when their pages have been published and when comments are posted about their pages. They comment back and forth on the site and are encouraged to spread the word through e-mail. Repeat visits, community and viral spread are the hallmarks of Web 2.0.

"Content 2.0 is automated, regulated, high-quality Web 2.0," continues the passionate Evoy. "Like our flagship, Site Build It! , the complexity under the hood is intense. And 'under the hood' is where it belongs. Our small business customers never have to look there. They just focus on doing business."

Evoy, heading into another meeting, looks back and says, "Small businesses have been the aggregatees for years. The money is in being the aggregator. Now small businesses can do it, in their niches, with quality and ease."

Content 2.0 is available at SiteSell.com for the annual subscription price of $ 99 as an add-on module to Site Build It! (SBI!), SiteSell's flagship business-building product. HowToDoThings.com Unveils Innovative, New Site And New Compensation Model For Writers

HowToDoThings.com Unveils Innovative, New Site And New Compensation Model For Writers

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 17, 2007

HowToDoThings.com, one of the fastest growing 'how to' sites, today announced the re-launch of their site after receiving an extremely enthusiastic response to their public beta. HowToDoThings.com also introduced a new compensation model that will pay writers 50 percent of the ad revenue generated from their articles.

With a more intuitive user interface and fast approval of submitted articles, HowToDoThings.com is now delivering a fresh approach for users to experience 'how-to' articles online. Having built the new site with their community in mind, HowToDoThings.com is making the writers a key part of the evolution of the site and keeping their interests top of mind. A new revenue model provides contributors with a greater revenue share than any other 'how-to' site currently on the web.

"We are very please to have received such a great response to the re-launch of our site," said Erik Budde, General Manager, HowToDoThings.com. "By expanding the site organically and with the needs of our community in mind, we've been able to sustain healthy growth by maintaining enough editors to keep up with the supply and demand of content. This allows articles of the highest quality to continue flowing on a daily basis, ensuring our contributors get their articles posted quickly and visitors to the site are always greeted with fresh material."

HowToDoThings.com users, community members, and article contributors are applauding the latest site design and new compensation model. They are finding success in key areas including:

---> Quick turnaround: While many sites take weeks and months to post articles, HowToDoThings.com posts articles in days, if not hours, ensuring maximum exposure and revenue opportunities for contributed content.

---> Bylines/Bios Exposure and Greater Revenue: In comparison to other sites that pay for content, HowToDoThings.com offers the highest revenue share--50 percent of Google AdSense Revenue--and continues to allow contributors to promote their websites, online businesses, forums, and blogs through their bylines, which are attached to more in-depth bio pages.

---> High Quality Articles: HowToDoThings.com seeks out experts on topics. The writers on HowToDoThings.com are not only contributors, they are well established in the areas that they are writing about.

"The new site is very professionally done and runs well," said Susan Biddy, community member of HowToDoThings.com. "The new design is clean and easy to read. And while the ads are a source of revenue for contributors, they are not distracting to the page, which I think is a huge turn off for most visitors. Best of all, anytime I have ever needed a correction or had a question, someone at HowToDoThings.com has responded immediately."

"HowToDoThings.com continues to foster the highest quality content with their newly launched site," said Elizabeth Grace, community member of HowToDoThings.com. "The community is teeming with writers who have proven, first-hand, knowledge of the topics that they cover. Some other sites simply hire writers who research the subject matter and then write articles. Unfortunately, many of these articles are simply re-writes of existing Internet articles, not all of which are based on fact or filled with useful, quality information."

Unlike other 'how-to' web sites written by staff writers, HowToDoThings.com contributors are hobbyists, professionals, and experts in their given fields, providing visitors to the site with real world experiences. Currently the site offers more than 3,500 'how-to' articles.

With nearly 15 unique visitors every minute, HowToDoThings.com is fast becoming a top destination for people looking for the answers to their questions. This growth has been fueled by the strong relationship the site has built with its contributors and audience. The driving force of this is the clear guidelines and easy contribution process, allowing well-qualified contributors to earn exposure and money on topics they are most passionate about.

About HowToDoThings.com

HowToDoThings.com strives to solve people's everyday problems by compiling reliable information from experienced contributors and making it available to inexperienced readers. It's simple: We're a community sharing its expertise to solve people's problems.

New Book Teaches Chiropractors Profitable Billing and Compliant Office Management – Book Offers Winning Internet Strategies for Payer-Provider Conflict Management

New Book Teaches Chiropractors Profitable Billing and Compliant Office Management - Book Offers Winning Internet Strategies for Payer-Provider Conflict Management

Cover

Marlboro, NJ (PRWEB) October 25, 2007

You want to heal the sick, but you waste your time fighting insurance companies and barely making ends meet in a conflict-ridden business environment. "Increasing complexity of billing creates opportunities for the payers to benefit at the expense of the providers," says Dr. Sigmund Miller, executive director of the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors (ANJC). "Endless claim denials, payment delays, and post-payment audits are all too familiar symptoms of dilettante billing. Doctors require professional solutions."

"Providers paid $ 3.1 billion last year in refunds and penalties--twenty times more than ten years ago," adds Jeffrey Randolph, legal counsel to the ANJC. "The payer's motive is money, the payer's means is a gargantuan statistical database, and every provider is an opportunity."

"Practice owners alone are helpless against insurance companies that are armed with powerful technology and focused on keeping providers' money to increase profits for their shareholders," says Dr. Yuval Lirov, who holds patents in artificial intelligence and computer security and is also CEO of Vericle.com, a distributed practice management and billing software company. Lirov continues, "Recent Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and USA Today articles about collections difficulties and medical billing fraud emphasize the need for a better approach to manage healthcare offices."

Lirov's new book, Practicing Profitability: Network Effect for Revenue Cycle Control in a Paperless Healthcare Clinic and Chiropractic Office, helps both new and veteran owners of healthcare offices understand the rules of the modern "payer-provider conflict" so that they can improve billing and reduce audit risk. It's the first book to systematically approach billing from the payer-provider conflict perspective and to apply the "network effect." The network effect is the most revolutionary characteristic of Internet technology. In short, it's when the value of a networked service to a customer increases in step with the growing number of customers. It applies to services like Google AdSense, eBay, Wikipedia, Skype, Amazon, Flickr, and MySpace--and it can be used by healthcare practice owners and managers to "level the playing field" with insurance companies.

"Practicing Profitability is a well written and very thorough book that every chiropractor should take the time to read," says Dr. John L. Reizer, assistant professor at Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in South Carolina and best-selling author of four books: Up and Running - Opening a Chiropractic Office, Chiropractic Made Simple: Working With the Controlling Laws of Nature, 15 Secrets to Becoming a Successful Chiropractor, and Teaching Your Patients Chiropractic. "I give Practicing Profitability five out of five stars and encourage students and doctors alike to get their hands on this text as soon as possible."

"This book documents our experience and presents many of the concepts Vericle pioneered in a simple and pragmatic way--so that the chiropractor who sees 1,000 patients a week can improve practice workflow and profitability, and a chiropractor who sees 100 patients a week can accelerate her practice buildup tenfold," writes Dr. Brian Capra, partner at Billing Precision, in the book's foreword. "By applying Vericle's solution, we transform disparate, stand-alone billing companies from the many into the mighty. Chiropractic clinic owners who use this solution are paid more, faster, and for less."

"The network effect allows each member practice to gain more value as each new practice joins the Vericle network," says Lirov. "For practice managers, value is defined in terms of increased collections, reduced audit risk, better practice efficiencies, and added sources of revenue. This book demonstrates how practice managers achieve and take advantage of the network effect by combining Straight-Through Processing (STP) and Software as a Service (SaaS) architectures."

Practicing Profitability touches on every aspect of modern office management software--including workflow, reporting, outsourcing, scheduling, EMR, SOAP notes, care plans, coding, billing, collections, HIPAA compliance, and audit risk management. It shows simple steps that practice owners must take to increase practice revenue without wasting time, energy, and money on personnel, software, hardware, or any other resources that dilute their focus from patient care and practice development. The book spans thirty-five chapters and about two hundred pages, and it contains informative illustrations and an extensive index. It's aimed at practice owners, coaches, owners of billing companies, practice managers, office management consultants, and billing specialists as well as recent graduates of medical schools and chiropractic colleges. Practicing Profitability (ISBN 0979610117) is published by Affinity Billing and available for $ 37.95 on Amazon.

The Quarter Wiki brings you Traffic and Profits for just a Quarter

The Quarter Wiki brings you Traffic and Profits for just a Quarter

QuarterWiki

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 2, 2007

Zedomax Network has just launched a new paid online encyclopedia called QuarterWiki.com where users can buy a page for just a quarter. Users can use their pages to write their own definition of words in the encyclopedia or simply use it to promote their website, e-store, blog or any other products or services.

"Unlike Wikipedia, the pages users buy will solely have their content and no one else's. Users can also add YouTube videos, Google AdSense ads and Google Maps among many features being added to the site daily."

Wikipedia's financial system is built on donations whereas the Quarter Wiki is based on charging a quarter to each page. Time will tell which system is more effective at building great content but at the cost of a quarter, users can take advantage by acting early. If Wikipedia had a similar system, pages on the Wikipedia could have be been sold for thousands of dollars today.

Why are they charging money for pages? Rather than using annoying CAPTCHA or any other SPAM filtering devices, the Quarter Wiki is able to overcome spam by charging a small fee for each page.

In addition, the company has also developed a customized, automated payment system and automated RSS Feeds into each page. What does this do? This allows users to create content and RSS Feeds are generated automatically, just like a blog. Internet users can now have same technologies used in blogs without owning a blog.

The paid wiki buzz was started with Graham Langdon, the creator of the Million Dollar Wiki. Graham has had great success with his wiki site, making over $ 100,000 in a period of about 6 months. The Business page on the Million Dollar Wiki had been sold for over $ 6000 on eBay with some users buying up to 15 pages at a time. Graham is now pursuing another great website called EntreCard, a tool for bloggers to advertise for free using 125x125 pixel widgets.

The Quarter Wiki is created by Zedomax Network, a Web 2.0 company that specializes in Blogs, Social Networks, and Paid Wiki sites.

The company has created similar sites previously and has had some success with its One Buck Wiki, the site selling over 1000 pages in just 11 days. They have also launched EntreWiki last week, a focused niche site for Entrepreneurs and people looking to start a new business.

Although it's too early to tell whether the Internet users can digest another paid wiki site, the Quarter Wiki brings Internet users true value for their money at just a quarter per page.
